FRIDOLIN BLUMER BASS SOLO
Fridolin Blumer ist Bassist, Improvisator und Interpret. Er arbeitet als Solokünstler, mit der Band Ensemble 5 und als gefragter Sideman im Spannungsfeld zwischen Jazz, Improvisation, Neuer Musik und Pop.
Seit 1999 erforscht er die musikalische Tradition, aktuelle musikalische Strömungen, Groove/Zeit, Klang und die Spielweise des Basses in Bezug dazu. Daraus entwickelt er eine persönliche und neue Musik/musikalische Sprache.
Fridolin Blumer plays acoustic and improvised solo music on the double bass. The Music is created at the point where everything is possible and nothing is known in advance: the feeling and impression of reality can be experienced musically.
Fridolin Blumer is a bassplyer, improviser and interpreter. He works as a solo artist, with the band Ensemble 5 and as a sought-after sideman in the area between Jazz, Improvisation, New Music and Pop. Since 1999 he has been researching the musical tradition, current musical trends, groove/time, sound and the way the bass is played in relation to this. From this he develops a personal and new music/musical language.

Jedes Jahr im September nehme ich ein Basssolo auf; eine Art musikalisches Jahrbuch. Die Entwicklung meiner Musik im Verlaufe der Zeit wird hörbar. Die Veränderung meiner Wahrnehmung über das Jahr ermöglicht neue Ideen, erschliesst anderes Material und öffnet aktuelle Klangräume.
Every year in September I record a basssolo; a kind of musical yearbook. The development of my music in passage of time becomes audible. The transformation of my perception over the year enables new ideas, different material and current sound spaces.
